Save Me (Believe Again)!

For over one hundred years, Daniel Tremont searched for the woman who brought him back from the dead after a tragic fire. He is sure she is the love of his life. When he finally catches up with her, he realizes he’s made a terrible mistake.

Alone in his grief, Daniel stumbles upon the remains of a long shuttered insane asylum. In the distance, he sees a beautiful young woman beckon to him.

Is she real, or simply the spirit of a long dead former inmate of the asylum?

Brecklin is at the asylum to spend the last day of her life alone. Daniel’s arrival now complicates her plans. But Brecklin soon realizes Daniel isn’t an ordinary man. He is an extraordinary man. He needs her to save him, and in return, he will save her. Can she believe long enough to alter the course of her fading life, and maybe in return, find a forever love?

Q & A with Natalie-Nichole Bates about Save Me (Believe Again)!

Tell us about Save Me (Believe Again).

SAVE ME (Believe Again) is the second story in my RISE series. It is a deeply emotional story of a man who has been searching for the missing piece of his past for over 100 years, only to discover everything he believed was more or less a fantasy in his mind. Alone and broken, he stops at a stretch of abandoned beach, near a demolished early twentieth century insane asylum. In the distance, a woman dressed in pink beacons to him. Whether she is real or the spirit of some long deceased inmate of the asylum, he’s not sure. One day will change two lives forever.

What initially inspired you to write Save Me (Believe Again)?

When I finished writing the first book in the RISE series, SEE ME, I wasn’t finished with the character of Daniel. I felt there was more to say. I decided to write SAVE ME as a sort of an alternate telling of his story, a what if he never got together with Carly, a sort of funked up fairy tale.

Tell us little about the characters in Save Me (Believe Again).

There are two characters in this story. Daniel Tremont and Brecklin. We never know her last name. Daniel has been alive (for the second time) for over 100 years, resurrected after a fire in 1896. He is still searching for the woman who brought him back to life, sure they are meant to be together. When all falls apart, he is alone and broken, as he has been for all of his existence.
Brecklin is a young woman suffering from a fatal disease. The day at the beach is meant to be her final day on earth. What initially begins as a little fun on her part, takes a dramatic and serious turn when she meets Daniel. He makes her a tempting offer, but she can’t believe anything he says.

What was the hardest part of writing this book?

It is extremely emotional, and does carry a suicide thread.

What was your favorite chapter (or part) to write and why?

You have to realize Daniel is essentially a Victorian era man living in the modern world. Some of his interactions with Brecklin are funny and awkward. I loved writing his reactions to her behavior.

What are your future project(s)?

Currently I am writing book 3 of my RISE series, which will be titled EMBREE’S RISE.

Is there anything else you would like to tell the readers about this book/series?

Although the series is currently available as eBooks, my publisher is planning to release all three books as one paperback, hopefully by the end of the year.

Now an exciting excerpt from Save Me (Believe Again)!

A vision in pink.
He blinked hard to be sure he was seeing what he thought.
It was a woman standing in the open doorway of the morgue. Her long, almost waist length dark hair flowed over a pink dress that nearly reached her ankles. Her feet were bare.
Daniel’s heart began to beat double time in his chest, as she crooked a finger at him.
Was she real? Or was she some spirit of a former patient from Barrow Haven?
He seen some oddities over the years, most likely because of his eternal condition. But never a ghost or spirit like this one. She absolutely shined, and he found himself rooted to the spot, unable to lift his sneakered feet.
When she blew him a kiss, his feet unstuck, and he walked towards her. Just as he got closer, she suddenly turned, and darted into the open doorway of the morgue.
He knew he shouldn’t pursue her. He didn’t know what she was, or what game she may be playing. Yet he picked up his pace, until he entered the open doorway where she disappeared just a minute or two earlier.

EskieMama & Dragon Lady Reads Review: Texas Two Steps by Cynthia D'Alba

Texas Two Steps
Texas Montgomery Mavericks #1
Cynthia D'Alba

Their love never died, but her secrets could break his trust beyond repair.

Texas Montgomery Mavericks, Book 1

After six years and too much self-recrimination, rancher Mitch Landry is ready to admit he was wrong. He'd loved Olivia Montgomery but commitment wasn't high on his list back then. That was his first mistake. He's just divorced his second, and he's set to do whatever it takes to convince Olivia to give him another try.
Through hard work, determination and more than a few tears, Olivia survived the break-up with Mitch. She's rebuilt her life around her business and the son she loves more than life itself. She's not proud of the mistakes she's made--particularly the secrets she's kept--but when life hands you manure, you use it to make something better of yourself...lest you get stuck in it.
At a hot, muggy Dallas wedding, they reconnect. Olivia's first instinct is to play it cool, but after one devastating kiss things flare out of control, real fast. Maybe a quick roll in the hay will get him out of her system once and for all. Funny thing about hay though, once it's tangled in your hair, getting it out risks revealing things that were never meant to see the light of day.

Warning: Contains hot sex, a vindictive ex-wife, and hot chocolate chip cookies.

Review:                                    5 stars

This was the second book I have read by Cynthia D’Alba, the first one was part of a book bundle Cowboy Twelve Pack a short novella A Cowboy Seduction that I brought for one author but feel in love with Cynthia D’Alba’s writing, I always told myself I would read more of her books but never did, until now with Texas Two Step and she did not disappoint this reader.

Mitch Landry and Olivia Montgomery Gentry had not set eyes on each other for six years after Mitch walked out of Olivia’s life telling her he wasn’t ready to settle down and for her to date other people. He broke Olivia’s heart all over again when he married another woman. They meet after their six year separation at DFW airport, Mitch flew in from south Texas to be the best man in his friend Wes’s wedding and Olivia was there to pick her up part of her maid of honor duties to her best friend Emily. Will the sparks rekindle after being together for the wedding or have they let each other go? Will Olivia let Mitch in on her little secret she has been harboring for six years?

Texas Two Step had everything this reader enjoys in an enjoyable read! Second chance love, a very sexy cowboy, a non-whiny heroine, steamy sex, lots of laughs & a tear at the end. Oh boy I can’t forget Olivia’s five year old Adam he is like any other five year old snips and snails, and puppy dogs tails, a cute ornery 5 year old anyone would fall in love with. Cynthia D’Alba has gained a new reader in this gal! I can not wait to read more in the Texas Montgomery Maverick series! If you love second chance love romances and sexy cowboys I recommend you pick up a copy of Texas Two Step and fall in love with Adam just as I did.

Review:                                   4 stars

So someone hit Ryan Kaye and he hopes there is a very good reason or else. But rather surprised assumes there’s a good reason. But surprised that is was regarding a one night stand and to make matters worse, this never happened. (hihi)
This was to have happened with Amanda Dixon who was the sister if his friend.
Ahh Amanda does not want to add anyone in her life, But Ryan Kaye is surely sure tempting her a lot, if you have the urge to find out how this develops head on and read the book, it's a good and cute story.

Review:                                   4 stars

Let me start by saying Unbridled was my first read by Delilah Devlin, and wow what a great first read it was, hot and steamy. What a way to introduce a reader to a new author she has me hooked to her books.

Dani Standifer arrives home at her West Texas family ranch a day early, ready to pick up where she left off with Rowe Ayers, her high school sweetheart, but would never expect what she found out at the cabin that was Rowe and her rendezvous place for their trysts Rowe & Justin were lovers. Could she accept Rowes secret? Could she go along with what Rowe and Justin are offering her? Will Justin reveal to Dani his true feelings?

This was a short but steamy read! Ms. Devlin had you pulled into book wondering if Justin would ever let his need for control go, would he actually be able to let two people love him and love them back. What woman wouldn’t love to be loved by two sexy cowboys, I know I would. I can not wait to read the other books in her Lone Star Lovers series.
