Clare and her group of vampires, fae and werewolves want to live on Earth. To do that, they must heal the worlds they have been visiting through the portals.

Vesi, is an albino vampire and Heln, is a white werewolf. Neither has been accepted by their people. This unlikely couple tries to fight their growing attraction to each other while helping to save two worlds.

On one world, a mist is closing in so nothing will survive. On the other, the High Priestess Sari is at war. Her power is failing and she wants to use Vesi’s blood so she can live forever.

Can Heln save his love and help his friends save both worlds. Will their group ever get to Earth?

Excerpt:

Vesi could sense, as always, when the sun was going down. Like all bloodsuckers, she could survive in daylight, but her skin would burn and the recovery was slow and painful. Her body was always cool, but she could detect the dip in the temperature outside the barn as the sun dipped below the horizon. She could also still feel the heat of the werewolf Heln, who cradled her back.

This new world seemed to be bringing more surprises than she expected. She thought back to the first time she had seen Heln in the Temple of Paqua. She had felt he was the only person in the room. It was as if no one else existed and her body had yearned for him. She was no prude and had taken many human partners over the years, but this strong urge was new to her.

She had never understood why the other bloodsuckers saw the werewolf clans as subhuman, and playthings for their entertainment. She would never kill anyone or anything for sport. What she was considering now was different. The thought of mating with this werewolf was enticing. What concerned her was that the imprinting was for life, and she was not sure she was ready for that kind of commitment. Then again wasn't it what she and Torvan had wanted. For now she would just enjoy the closeness of another person.

EskieMama & Dragon Lady Reads Review: Naked Hunger by Desiree Holt

Naked Hunger
Naked Cowboy series
by
Desiree Holt

Blurb:

His heart has an appetite only one woman can satisfy.
Naked Cowboys, Book 8
Sable Hunter paid her dues caring for suburban pets in West Texas. Ready to get back to her first love—large animals—she’s excited about moving to Saddle Wells to take over for the retiring veterinarian. With a reputation to build, she can’t afford any distractions, and the sizzling heat between her and local rancher Ryan Donovan could seriously mess with her focus.
Ryan earned his stripes the hard way, one bull at a time on the rodeo circuit. Now he’s put his prize money to work raising bulls for competition. He can’t deny he misses the rush of pro riding—until the sweet new vet in town brings a different kind of excitement and makes him want to sweep her into his bed and his future.
Becoming friends with benefits sounds like an excellent compromise to Ryan until he can convince Sable she doesn’t have to choose between career and love. But a costly mistake could destroy her career, as well as any chance for happiness with the man she realizes she loves.
Warning: Contains a woman whose career is taking off, and a man whose career is changing direction faster than a spinning bull. Hang on, ladies, this cowboy’s got a free hand and it’s about to get wild!

Review:                            4 1/2 stars
I hate to admit it, but this was my first Desiree Holt book I have read. I keep asking myself why.  Talk about HOT, the chemistry between Ryan & Sable was that, from the first time their eyes meet. Sable tried to fight it, with being the new vet in town and a woman at that, she felt the ranchers would not take her seriously around their livestock, she felt she had something to prove. She didn’t have time for a committed relationship and she felt a relationship wouldn’t work out with her with the hours she kept as a vet. Boom! Ryan and her had their first round in the sack and another and another.  Could she keep it friends with benefits and not want more. She was starting to question herself if she wanted more with Ryan and if she did could a relationship work with him with her crazy hours, just when she was willing to give him more, KABOOM!!! Ryan goes and does something stupid, I wanted to go through the book and strangle him. But at the end he redeems himself.
If you are looking for a quick, HOT cowboy read I recommend you pick up a copy of Naked Hunger by Desiree Holt. You will be fanning yourself just like I was.  I can not wait to read another of Desiree Holt’s books.
I received a free copy for my honest review!

EskieMama & Dragon Lady Reads Review: Shared For Love by Nancy Corrigan

Shared For Love
The Kagen Wolves series
by
Nancy Corrigan

Blurb:

Their bond is heaven on earth…but it could tear their pack apart.
Royal-Kagan Shifter World, Book 6
Ethan Jager is forced to hide behind a false identity as his pack mates suffer under Michael Tanner’s rule. It’s not his choice; he was born broken, without the primitive urge to breed driving him to pick a mate.
While his wolf sleeps, his heart has chosen for him: Noah, widower and fellow pack dominant.
Everything changes the day Hannah Kagan smiles at him. Lust awakens his wolf—a first. Hannah is beautiful, loyal, kind, everything an alpha male should want. And mating her will allow him to reclaim his pack. It will also leave his soul with a giant hole when he’s forced to rip Noah out of his life.
Hard choices are required of alpha males, but choosing which lover to let go is one Ethan refuses to make. The alternative will not only change the pack, but transform their world…if he can keep his mates alive long enough to claim them both.
Warning: Contains an alpha male whose wolf doesn’t like to share his toys, a dominant female who’s nobody’s plaything, and a beta male who doesn’t roll over for anyone. Also: speed dating, werewolf style. Band-Aids required.

Review:                                 5 stars
Ethan Jager is hiding behind a false identity as he watches his pack mates suffer at the hands of the Alpha of their pack. Knowing he can't become Alpha unless he has a mate. In the years he never found his mate but he found Nic a wolf and man who lost his mate.
Things do change for him and Noah as Hannah Kagan enters their lives, she awakens his wolf, which is something that never happened before, for no female has ever stirred his lust. Not only did she awakened him but by mating her he could become the Alpha for his pack. But he would lose Noah , or would he.
Ethan refuses to make the choice that would hurt him, but chooses to change their world
if he can keep them alive that is.
Other things come into focus as we read about their lives, loves and wants, will they overcome and succeed or will they fail. I was taken on a grand adventure that left me surprised and cheering for the trio.
