"And another one gone, and another one gone, another one bites the dust."  Jake crooned.
Brody picks up a shirt, balls it up and hits Jake square in the back, "will you quit it you damn knucklehead."
"What," Jake questions, " I am just getting tuned up for tonight, at least one of us has to sound good when you make a jackass out of yourself in front of the whole damn town."
"And another one gone, and another one gone, another one bites the dust." Jake mumbles with a smirk.
"Damn you I heard that," Brody growls, starts to charge Jake but Trevor grabs his arm, " You two assholes quit it, we have a more serious problem on our hands." Trevor barks.
"Thanks, Trev," Jake says, "I gotta stay looking good, never know I may get lucky tonight." wiggling his eyebrows.
"Your such a dumbass, we all know you already balled Jay." Brody growled.
"If you wasn't one of my best friends, Stevenson, I'd punch you in that ugly mug of yours," Jake snarled with a fist up, "for talking about Jaden like that."
Trevor stepped between the two of them, being the responsible one out of the three of them, "Seriously, Brody what are you going to do about Roxanne?" Trevor asked.
"What you mean what I am going to about Roxanne, fucking nothing!" Brody growled.
"Come on, Stevenson, you know that skank is going to someway get it back to Micki about what happen that night."  Jake returned.
"Jesus Christ, for the last fucking time nothing happen." Brody yelled, "I have never cheated on Michaela, and if I ever thought about it," pointing his finger at both Jake and Trevor "which I would never, the last person I would be with is Roxie Mercer the town slut. I have more respect for myself than that."
"But dammit Brody, Jake and I both found you the next day in the bed of your truck with her." Trevor barked.
Sinking to the bed, with his chin to his chest, shaking his head, "guys I really don't remember what happen, I remember taking Micki home from the bonfire, she wasn't feeling well, coming back, jumping in that cold fucking lake with you assholes bare ass naked, but I don't remember anything fucking else." Brody looked up sorrowfully at his two best friends, "Please help me keep Roxie away from Michaela until I can remember that whole night. I love that girl with all my heart and soul, it would kill me if I lost her because Roxy got to her before I could tell her, but I need to find out what really happen that night.  All I know is down deep," pounding his chest, "I know I did NOT have sex with that slut that night."
Brody looked at both his friends, his dark brown hair ruffled due to his hands continually combing through it, dark blue eyes pleading with them to help him.
Jake broke the silence, "You know we will, bro," sticking his hand out "one for all, all for one."  Brody and Trevor placed their hands on his and chanted the phrase.
Trevor looked at both of his friends with a question in his eye, "Maybe we should tell at least Rayna and Jaden some of what happen."
"Are you fucking nuts, they would have our brother hung up by his testicles in the bell tower of the townhall for all the fucking town to see. No fucking way, do Ray & Jay find out." bellowed Jake.
"Hell you just don't what Jaden to find out you knew for three fucking months that one of her best friends boyfriends fucked Roxie." Trevor growled.
"I did NOT fuck Roxie" "Hell yes because their goes my lovin"  Jake and Brody both yelled at the sametime.
Nodding his head Trevor agrees with them, " Ok, you nimrods are right, but I disagree with you Jake, I think Jaden would cut his nuts and dick off with a blunt knife and shove them up his ass," he chuckles.
"Yep her crazy cute ass would probably do that, but would it be before or after she took that blunt knife after Roxie's tits, cut them off stuck one up her ass & one up her pussy and sew her up." Jake howled.
"Probably after," snorted Trevor, "so she could shove Brody's dick down her throat."

“Up, Yasmeen.”
That’s what she thought. She shoved her arms in the air, and he pulled the soft cotton over her head. She looked down at the logo across her chest. “You went to Princeton?”
“I went to Princeton. I also spent some time at Oxford.”
“In England?”
“Is there another?”
“Not that could handle that attitude, no.” He gave her a warning look that she took head on. “Don’t look at me like that. Your arrogance is astounding. The girls must have followed you around with their panties in the air.”
“As I am sure the boys at NYU followed behind you holding their dicks in their hands.”
She grimaced. “No, they didn’t.”
“Yes, my pet. They did. Believe me. If you did not witness it, they were being discreet. I would guarantee hundreds of men have come on their shower walls to thoughts of you on your knees before them.”
“Lucian. Don’t be disgusting.”
He gave her an exasperated look. “That is not disgusting. If I were to see you masturbate, I would be enthralled.”
“Yes, but that’s someone you’re attracted to. I’d be all eyes if I watched you, too. But to think of other men doing it makes me a little vomity.”
“For masturbating to a mental image of you.”
She tipped her head and nodded as if it was dense of him to confirm.
“You are a strikingly beautiful woman. You must know men wonder what it must be like to fuck you the minute they see you. When I saw you for the first time, I was staggered by your beauty. I have never experienced the sensation of having my breath taken. You accomplished that without batting an eye.”
She couldn’t deny hearing she hadn’t been the only one affected like that made her feel great. But looks were looks, and they’d eventually go. “So your first thought was to have sex with me?”
A shadow passed over his features. “No. My first thought was to do what I have now done.”
“Have sex with me.”
“Steal you.”
Her eyes flared. “You thought to steal me? That night?”
“I fought myself throughout our meal. By the time you got up to use the restroom, I’d considered a variety of ways I could imprison you, right down to purchasing a small island and allowing you to roam freely but with no actual way of escape.”
He bent and kissed her throat before nudging her toward the sitting area. “Sit.”
She slowly walked over, trying to get her head around the fact that he’d wanted to do this to her two years ago. That meant Markus’s murder hadn’t created her crazy man, it had just prodded him out into the open. When she reached the loveseat and turned to sit, he was gone.

EXCERPT:
HART’S DESIRE (Pirates & Petticoats, #1)

She crawled behind an iron bench. Daniel, Captain Hart, and Conal O'Brien walked along the outside of the hedge. Curious, she crept closer to peek through the branches. Would Daniel ask the men to remain quiet about the scene they had witnessed in the meadow? If he did, it would prevent her from having to plead her case to Captain Hart, a task she dreaded doing on her own. Had they already discussed it? The garden was very private; it would be a good place to speak to them in confidence.
She couldn’t assume the topic had already been discussed. She considered stepping out from her hiding place and intercepting them as they passed the arbor at the entrance. That plan would only work if the men continued walking along the hedge and turned left to pass the arbor, rather than turn right toward the front door of the main house. If she could get Daniel’s attention, she could indicate she wanted them to enter the garden, and meet them by the arbor.
Daniel continued, “Behind the Grey’s house sits a kitchen house, a chicken coop, smokehouse, and a few outbuildings. In addition to crops and timber, Twin Pines also produces turpentine.”
She squeezed between two bushy shrubs near a cherry tree and cautiously peered through the foliage. Daniel pointed west, his back to her. Landon stood next to him. Where was the other man? Conal O'Brien?
“Beyond this garden is a small spring-fed pond, which takes up most of the meadow bottom to the east of the main house. There’s another much larger lake on the plantation a few miles southwest.”
Conal O'Brien stepped through the arbor.
Oh no! She caught her breath sharply.
This wouldn’t work at all. There was no way to exit her hiding place without exposing that she’d been eavesdropping. Why would Captain Hart and Mr. O'Brien agree to do a favor to someone who’d been spying on them? Curse her terrible luck. Now, she’d have to wait until they left then run to catch them before they made it to the front door. Her stomach dropped. She wouldn’t be able to accomplish that without the possibility of being seen by her uncle.
She was doomed.
Daniel and Captain Hart soon followed Mr. O'Brien. Keelan retreated further into the scratchy bushes behind the sweet blossoming limbs of the cherry tree. She winced as several branches poked the back of her head, legs, and arms.
“This is Mrs. Grey's pride,” Daniel said, only a few yards away.
Conal stated his approval, “Tis carefully tended, for sure. Pleasin’ to the eye.”
Landon agreed. “Mrs. Grey has cause to be proud. The cherry blossoms are especially magnificent,” he added loudly, sounding closer than Daniel.
Her heart thumped against the walls of her chest. She crouched lower into the shadows of the shrubs next to the cherry tree. Captain Hart was dangerously close to her hiding place. She dared not take a single breath.
“Look at this,” Conal said. “The detail on this bench is as fine as any I have ever seen.”
He walked straight ahead to the bench and ran his large hand over the ornate ironwork. The fragrance of a rose bush apparently caught his attention and he stepped over to sniff the flowers. Reaching down, he plucked a blossom, lifted it to his nose, and inhaled. Keelan’s pulse pounded frantically. Although Conal stood several yards away, if he happened to glance to his left, he would discover her. Why hadn’t she tried to intercept them earlier instead of just standing here pondering it?
Captain Hart coughed.
Conal jumped then grinned. “After five months at sea, ‘tis a relief ta have somethin’ nicer ta smell than salt water and eighty unbathed seamen.”
“Come,” Daniel said, laughing. “I’ll take you inside to meet Mr. Grey and the commodore.”
The conversation continued after the men walked from the garden, but Keelan couldn’t hear it clearly.
Were they gone? After a moment, Keelan leaned forward to peek around the branches, but froze at a sharp, painful tug on her hair. Reaching behind her head, she sought the cause of the entrapment and discovered her hair wildly snared in the branches. Oh dear. This kind of delay was not what she needed now. With a groan, she tugged harder, but succeeded in freeing only a few meager strands.
“Damn!” She tucked her chin to her chest and groped for more tangled curls. This was a fine mess. If Aunt Sarah caught sight of her now, she'd drop in a dead faint.
“That’s an understandable expletive for a young girl posing as a boy, however, as a young girl masquerading as foliage, it’s a bit disconcerting.”
Keelan ceased her struggle, mortified. A shadow fell over the ground at her feet, followed by black riding boots, lightly dusted from the road. She raised her gaze over fine black breeches and tapered waist. Raising her gaze higher, it stuttered at a white linen shirt untied at the neck, before she took in the broad shoulders, a strong jaw, a small scar on the chin and a straight, but haughty aquiline nose. Captain Hart stood in front of her, his crystalline blue eyes glittering with amusement. This was going to be trouble.
“You can come out now. I’m afraid you’ve been discovered.”

Guest Post: Brenda Huber author of Chronicles of the Fallen

Exclusive Excerpt from Brenda Huber's
Chronicles of the Fallen

“Please, please, do not tell me I just missed her!”
The balding little man behind the counter jumped at Sebastian’s tone. Sweat beaded the clerk’s brow as he fidgeted with a stack of travel brochures. “Well, I’m sorry, but you have.” He hitched a thumb over his shoulder toward the window behind him. “In fact, there she goes now.”
The edge of the countertop cracked beneath Sebastian’s fingertips as he watched the twin engine Cessna taxi down the runway. He’d chased that double damned woman all over this Godforsaken town. Port August, Michigan had become his own personal version of limbo from which it seemed he could not escape. A never ending loop of always being one step behind the cursed woman and never lucky enough to quite catch up. The storm brewing inside him boiled closer to the surface as the front wheels of the plane left the tarmac.
Breathe, Sebastian reminded himself.
And there she went, slipping through his fingers. Again. A red haze winked over his vision for a moment. The little gnome took a cautious step back, sweat streaming down the sides of his smooth forehead now, his eyes wide as saucers behind thick rimmed spectacles.
Just breathe.
Sebastian let out a really, really long breath. His palms sizzled. The little man behind the counter took another step back. The colorful pamphlets in his shaking hands spilled across the counter and fluttered to the floor.
Going demonic and decimating the small airport wouldn’t bring the wayward professor back. Nor would it make him feel any better…at least it wouldn’t once he’d retaken his human form and his conscience caught up to him.
In demonic form, he’d definitely enjoy himself.
Probably a little too much.
Seething, Sebastian turned, stalked from the building, and climbed inside the car he’d “borrowed”. Keeping his temper in check took far more control than he was comfortable admitting. Halfway across the parking lot, his phone began ringing. His temper clicked up another notch. He was in no mood to deal with anyone else’s problems today. And that would be the only reason any of the others would call him. Either the proverbial shit had hit the fan, or it was about to. He jerked the device from his pocket and checked the display.
Xander? He closed his eyes, tipped his head back and groaned aloud. Damn it. If the Slayer is calling, it’s gotta be bad. Really freakin’ bad.
Sebastian gritted his teeth, teetering on the edge of saying fuck it and smashing his phone rather than taking the call. Somehow, his default role in their merry little band of misfits had become mediator, voice of reason, and general all around shitstorm-cleaner-upper. As a rule, it didn’t bother him. At least, not usually. After all, he had far more patience than anyone else in their crew. Legendary patience he’d used once upon a time to dole out his particular brand of justice. He was, or had been, the demonic version of karma. Didn’t matter how long it took, who you were, or how well you hid, sooner or later, Vengeance always, always caught up with you.
Now whenever something went wrong, his brothers-in-arms called him without giving it a second thought. Why? Because they knew he had a long, long, long fuse.
Only they had a tendency to forget about the epic bang at the end. Forget about it until it was too late. By then things had already begun to explode and burn, and could the only thing to do was get the hell out of his way until the storm blew over.
Well, the end of that long fuse was getting closer and closer. Every minute, every second, that ticked by and he didn’t have his hands on that damned professor—the Guardian of the missing Sword of Kathnesh—poured fuel on the flames.
His conscience—or whatever meager shreds of decency he had left—got the better of him. Something end-of-the-world-bad had to have happened if Mr. I’d-Rather-Be-Tortured-Than-Talk-On-These-Damned-Things was heating up the airwaves. Sebastian so didn’t have the time or the patience to deal with anymore shit today.
He hesitated just long enough that the phone went silent. But he didn’t bother breathing a sigh of relief. He knew what was coming.
And three, two, one…
The phone screeched to life once again.
Yeah, thing about Xander? He didn’t do voicemail. He’d just keep hitting redial until he drove you insane.
Yo,” Sebastian barked into the phone. “Listen, man. Right now isn’t a good time to—”
Stolas has Mikhail.”
Sebastian’s entire body went stiff. He scowled at the steering wheel, unseeing, as all the air in his lungs deserted him. His hand fell to his lap, leaving the keys dangling from the ignition as he tried to wrap his mind around this unexpected news.
No. No way I heard that right.
“Come again?”
“He wants to trade Mikhail for Maggie.”
“Maggie? Wait, the Halfling Maggie that Gideon was supposed to retrieve?” Sebastian shoved his splayed fingers through his hair. “How the hell did Stolas get his hands onMikhail?”
The Demon of War was the strongest, meanest, most lethal bastard Sebastian knew. Mikhail carried the chip on his shoulder—and its corresponding temper—around like it was his due, and he had the skills and the experience to back it up. If Stolas or one of his minions—or, considering this was Mikhail they were talking about, probably an entire legion of Hell’s finest—could perform a bag and tag on Mikhail, then the Fallen were collectively screwed. And not in a way that might encourage one to bask in a pleasant, post-coital afterglow.
“I haven’t been off grid that damned long. What did I miss here?”
“Nutshell. Best guess, they took Mikhail via portal. The Halfling mated Gideon.
She’s pregnant, probably with The Chosen One. Ashïek is involved,” summed up Mr. Twenty-Five-Words-Or-Less. “Clear?”
Ashïek? Son of a bitch! Just like that, Sebastian’s blood turned to molten lava. The steering wheel crumbled like aluminum foil in his unforgiving grip.
Even as angels, Ashïek and Sebastian had maintained a not-so-healthy rivalry. And that rivalry had only grown more conflicted after the Great Fall, more often than not turning downright bloody…with a lot of collateral damage. One of Lucifer’s most favored forms of entertainment had been pitting the two against each other at every opportunity. He’d fueled the flames of hatred by rewarding the one who fought the dirtiest, regardless of who the victor had been.
While Sebastian’s rank had risen quite high in Lucifer’s army, Ashïek was every bit as formidable. The things Ashïek could and would do—the abilities he possessed, abilities like opening aforementioned portals—gave Sebastian a case of the cold sweats. It had taken every last ounce of ruthless, brutal determination on Sebastian’s part to best Ashïek. But best him he had. Many, many times.
