What circumstance brings these two women together and can they help each other heal? And will they each find what they need?
“Dear Emily” is the first book in the “Forever Family” series.
This book is not suitable for young readers. It is intended for mature adults only (18+) containing adult situations, non-consensual sex and some violence.
Dear Emily,
How do I start a letter to a child I have yet to meet?
A child that has always been in our hearts?
A child that is meant for our family?
Your Daddy and I can’t wait for the moment we are able to hold you in our arms for the first time. To lay our eyes on your perfect face, eyes, toes. To breathe in the essence of a new baby, swirling scents of powder and linen.
We can’t wait to feel your beating heart against our chests and to listen to your slow and steady breaths. To hear your soft baby noises. To soothe your crying.
We have always dreamed of you, Emily. We’ve dreamed that someday our family would be blessed with a child. We are so close. Our new family is within reach.
We are hoping, waiting, praying.
Love and kisses,
My eyes glisten with tears as I scrawl my signature at the bottom of the letter, touch my fingers to my lips, press them onto her name, and close my journal. I look over to my left where Kyle is softly snoring, sleeping soundly. I mouth the words ‘I love you’ to him, touch his back lightly, put my journal in my night table drawer, and turn out the soft light by my bedside. I curl my body into his, tuck my head onto his chest, and hold tight.
I love this man with all that I am, and I love the father that hi is going to be.

My heart is full of hope.
Dear Tabitha (#2) – March 28, 2014

You know me. You know who I am. What I am.

Damaged. Confused. Alone.

You feel sorry for me. You pity me.

You know what I’ve done. What I’ve given up. Who I’ve given up.

You try to understand what I’ve been through and how I can possibly go on with my life. But you can’t possibly understand.

I’ve lost too much. Sacrificed too much. Given up everything so that I can find myself.

Well I’m done.

I’m done walking away from everything that matters.

It’s time for me to heal.

It’s MY TURN to earn…

EskieMama Reads Review: Off the Hook by Laura Drewry

Welcome to The Buoys, a West Coast haven where love comes in with the tide. Perfect for readers of Jill Shalvis and Susan Mallery, the Fishing for Trouble series features three unforgettable brothers—each of whom is a great catch.

Major league pitcher Liam O'Donnell knows his best days are probably behind him, but that doesn't mean he's ready to retire and become a fishing guide. Still, after all the time he's spent chasing his dreams, he owes it to his brothers to pull his weight around the lodge. The Buoys is their father's legacy, and they can't let some developer take it from them. The one snag Liam isn't counting on is a blast from the past: his ex-wife.

The moment Kate Hadley steps out of the seaplane, she knows this assignment is going to be trickier than she thought. She has to persuade the owners to sell—and one of them is Liam O'Donnell. Ten years ago, she made the biggest mistake of her life when she married Liam during a fling in Vegas. Now he's her only lifeline in the middle of nowhere. Kate's trying to keep things cool, but Liam just reminds her of the scorching few nights they spent together—and tempts her to make new memories that are just as steamy as the old.

Review                 5 Stars

Off the Hook was such a wonderful second chance at love romance, & I am a sucker for those. I just feel in love with Kate, she didn't take anyones crap or the stupid O' Donnell men stupid attutitude to marriage especially Liam's brother Finn, she sure let him have it, I kept cheering her on " you tell him girl". And when Kate wanted something she went after it she wasn't that stupid girl from 10 years ago,  god forbid anyone who was going to hurt the ones she loved.  I also feel in love with Liam who knew he treated Kate like a prick when he left that hotel room 10 years ago without a word, but after spending time with Kate you could just tell how much he regretted that decision. I loved the banter between all the characters in Off the Hook, especially the brothers I was just holding my breath waiting for a punch. I can not wait to head back to Buoys to see if Ro & Finn get hooked.  I received a free copy from Tasty Book Tours for my honest review, thank you for the opportunity!!

EskieMama Reads Review: The Perfect Fit by Jenna Sutton

Zeke May has spent the past two years recovering from an IED attack and trying to adjust to life as a civilian. The veteran hiring program at denim empire Riley O’Brien & Co. offers a new beginning. The only problem is the high cost of housing in San Francisco, and Margo Lange could be the perfect solution.

Now that Margo has completed veterinary school, she’s ready to fulfill her dream of living in the Bay Area. Unfortunately, she’s drowning in student loan debt and the only places she can afford are dumps. Luckily, one of her uncle’s Army buddies needs a roommate.

Although Zeke’s place is a perfect fit for Margo’s budget, he is not what she expects. He’s much younger than her uncle, and he’s melt-your-panties hot. She doesn’t want to fall for him, but it doesn’t take her long to realize that Zeke is the perfect fit for her, regardless of their age gap. Too bad he’s so obviously still in love with his ex-wife…

Review:                  4 Stars

This was a wonderful afternoon escape, I wish it would have been a little longer. I loved the story line roommates to lovers just watching their love blossom. Zeke kept fighing his feelings for Margo with him being an amputee vet & the 11 year age difference he was right for her, but Margo knew right away he was the perfect guy for her, my kind of woman. I just feel in love with Roby, Margo's Doberman he was only protective with Margo but Zeke to especially when he was having his nightmares Roby had to be there right with him. If you a are looking for an afternoon escape The Perfect Fit is a great escape, I cannot wait to read another book by Jenna Sutton!! EskieMama Reads Review: Love, Alabama by Susan Sands

Emma Laroux’s life is nearly perfect. She lives in the small town of Ministry, Alabama, where she grew up, surrounded by family and friends, and owns a thriving pageant-coaching business. Emma almost never concerns herself with the town gossip that she’s a has-been former beauty queen, admittedly a gorgeous one.

Television director Matthew Pope wonders what kind of karmic sin he’s committed along the way that takes him from Manhattan and lands him back here in Podunk, Alabama, not two hours from his own home town full of bad blood and disastrous memories, to direct a new Southern cooking show for the network.

Matthew recognizes Emma as the former Miss Alabama he’d rescued from a difficult and desperate situation ten years before. Emma doesn’t recognize Matthew because she’d been drugged at a frat party that night.

Tad Beaumont, the mayor of Ministry, Alabama, is Emma’s ex-boyfriend and a controlling narcissist, and unbeknownst to Emma, has manipulated circumstances, making certain Emma’s dating relationships have never progressed.

Matthew helps Emma realized what’s been missing from her life as they discover a deep connection and budding relationship. A huge sin of omission and Tad’s well-placed lies and manipulations might cost them their future together.

Can Emma forgive and learn to trust Matthew after ten years of keeping men at arm’s length?

Can Matthew overcome his weighty emotional baggage after returning home to face his own demons of the past?

Review:                      5 Stars

This was my first read by Susan Sands, she earned herself a new fan!! Love Alabama kept me turning the page, I had to force myself to put it down to go to bed but as soon as I woke up & had my coffee in hand I picked the kindle up & finished reading it, I just had to find out what happen 10 years ago to Emma & how Matthew was involved. I was expecting a romance but got a little suspense in there that kept me turning the page. Love Alabama was a great read you had the family saga with Matthew & his family & Emma & her family, I loved the banter between Emma & her siblings, an obsessed ex, small town atmosphere, & a little suspense all rolled into one book. Who doesn't love a book that can have you laughing one moment, saying what the heck the next & maybe a little tear coming out at the end, that is what Love Alabama had this reader doing. The only thing I didn't like was they were Crimson Tide fans , maybe cause I am a Buckeye fan If you are looking for a romance with a little bit of suspense, Love, Alabama is for you but beware you will not be able to put it down. I received a free copy from Tasty Book Tours for my honest review, thank you for the opportunity!
