“If you’re going to complain, you can leave now.”
Edmund sent her a seductive glare. Out of patience, and with the night growing late, she shook her head.

“That smoldering look might work on simpering females like Zella Pendleton, but not me.”

He cocked his head to one side. “Was I smoldering?”

Unnerved, she clicked her tongue. “You know what I mean.”

He nodded, but continued to glance around, his gaze intense and wide with amazement. When her parents acquired the record store over thirty years ago, they’d made the upstairs their home. After Abby was born, they moved across the street to a modest two bedroom apartment. It was here, however, where her mother painted and where they played dress-up and danced to her father’s favorite albums. It was where her memories lived, though fleeting.

“I’m sure my home is as big as your closet, so if you start to get claustrophobic, you are welcome to show yourself out.”

He placed his hands behind his back and shook his head. “No, no. It’s quite…cozy, in a primitive sort of way.”

“Just don’t make yourself too comfortable,” she said, pulling out a chair from under the drop leaf table.

He smiled and sauntered straight toward her futon bed.

“Especially not there!” she called out, but it was too late. His behind had already planted itself on the heavyweight quilt Raify had made her, sometime after Abby’s mother died.

While Abby tried not to let him affect her, his palm fell onto her pillow, caressing it with a masculine hand. She glanced away, but not before a ripple of exhilaration swirled down her spine. She tried to shake it off, blaming it on the near-death experience on the
stairs.

“This isn’t 1811 England, you know,” he said, drawing her attention back to him. “And you won’t be ruined if I’m caught trespassing here. Other than that rather uncomfortable looking chair and the bathtub, it appears your bed is the only logical place for me to sit
at the moment.”

He hesitated, a spark of mischief lighting up those sea-green eyes. “Of course, I am in need of a good wash.”

He shrugged out of his jacket and began unbuttoning his shirt, revealing the powerful breadth of his lean torso.

“No, stop!”

Released Dec 1st, 2015

If you love Kristan Higgins, Susan Mallery, or Jill Shalvis, you won’t want to miss the Hero’s Welcome military romance series! Welcome to Forever introduces a small coastal town where America’s best and brightest risk everything for love.

In Seaside, North Carolina, there are two kinds of people: Marines, and kids of Marines. Then there’s Kat Chandler. Recently hired as the principal of Seaside Elementary, Kat makes it her mission to turn the school into a place of peace and calm. That’s not going to be easy with hard-liner parents like Micah Peterson storming in, telling her how to do her job—and then kissing her with those gorgeous lips of his and turning her brain into mush.

As a Marine Sergeant and a single dad, Micah Peterson has just two priorities: doing his job better than anyone else, and getting the absolute best for his son, Ben. But when he meets Ben’s beautiful new principal, a different yearning shifts into focus. He wants her, sure, but he’s also moved by the connection Kat forges with her students. So after learning that she refuses to date Marines, Micah sets two more objectives: convincing Kat to give him a chance . . . and then holding on to her forever.

“Have you thought about that kiss?” she asked, as he leaned in close to fasten her seatbelt. She couldn’t control what was coming out of her mouth. “Because I have. A little.” She started laughing again. Val had warned her that she was a horrible drunk, and evidently, it was true.
“What have you thought about it?” he asked, his voice low and bristly. Her buckle snapped into place with a loud click. He could step back now, but he didn’t.
And she didn’t want him to. What was the point of being drunk if you couldn’t say and do what you wanted, and then apologize for it in the morning? No one blamed a drunk, they blamed the drink. “I thought that I liked it. The kiss. It was amazing.” She held her breath as he lingered in front of her, his hand still resting on the seat’s buckle.
“I thought the same thing.”
“You did?” She swallowed thickly, as her heart rode up her throat.
His brow lifted. “You sound surprised.”
“I’m out of practice.” She nibbled on her lower lip, drawing his gaze there. Then his gaze flicked back to her ring. Just the thought squashed the flutterings in her chest, leaving a deep ache that vibrated with the alcohol. “He’s been gone for two years,” she said.
Micah’s brows pinched together softly.
Explaining about John in her state wasn’t a good idea, though. She might start crying, which she didn’t do in front of others anymore, and right now all she wanted to do was forget everything but their kiss. That she wanted to remember. “You could kiss me again,” she said softly.
His smile deepened and, damn, he smelled good.
Leaning in closer to her ear, his hot breath melted her as he whispered, “Kat, you’ve had too much to drink. I’m taking you home now.”
Before she could process what he’d said, he stepped back and shut the Jeep’s door, the sound as offensive as if someone had crashed cymbals in her ears. A moment later, he reappeared on the driver’s side and cranked the engine, another sound that made her wince.
She closed her eyes, unsure of what to do with her drunken emotions.
“If I kiss you again, I want to be one hundred percent sure it’s what you want. Not because my almost ex is walking up and you want to help me out. Not because you’ve had too much to drink and want to escape.”
She suddenly felt very tired, as the Jeep Cherokee headed out of the parking lot. “So, you are going to kiss me again?” she asked. Before she could hear his answer, though, her eyes closed and the sounds of the road and his voice, and the blood thundering in her head, blurred together. She remembered their kiss, the feel of his stubble roughly brushing against her cheek, and the way he had smelled like pine and fudge brownies.
No, wait. His eyes reminded her of fudge brownies. He didn’t smell like them.
Her eyes fluttered open. Yeah, she was definitely going to regret tonight in the morning.

Welcome to The Buoys, a West Coast haven where love comes in with the tide. Perfect for readers of Jill Shalvis and Susan Mallery, the Fishing for Trouble series features three unforgettable brothers—each of whom is a great catch.

Major league pitcher Liam O’Donnell knows his best days are probably behind him, but that doesn’t mean he’s ready to retire and become a fishing guide. Still, after all the time he’s spent chasing his dreams, he owes it to his brothers to pull his weight around the lodge. The Buoys is their father’s legacy, and they can’t let some developer take it from them. The one snag Liam isn’t counting on is a blast from the past: his ex-wife.

The moment Kate Hadley steps out of the seaplane, she knows this assignment is going to be trickier than she thought. She has to persuade the owners to sell—and one of them is Liam O’Donnell. Ten years ago, she made the biggest mistake of her life when she married Liam during a fling in Vegas. Now he’s her only lifeline in the middle of nowhere. Kate’s trying to keep things cool, but Liam just reminds her of the scorching few nights they spent together—and tempts her to make new memories that are just as steamy as the old.

5 Stars

Off the Hook was such a wonderful second chance at love romance, & I am a sucker for those. I just feel in love with Kate, she didn't take anyones crap or the stupid O' Donnell men stupid attutitude to marriage especially Liam's brother Finn, she sure let him have it, I kept cheering her on " you tell him girl". And when Kate wanted something she went after it she wasn't that stupid girl from 10 years ago,  god forbid anyone who was going to hurt the ones she loved.  I also feel in love with Liam who knew he treated Kate like a prick when he left that hotel room 10 years ago without a word, but after spending time with Kate you could just tell how much he regretted that decision. I loved the banter between all the characters in Off the Hook, especially the brothers I was just holding my breath waiting for a punch. I can not wait to head back to Buoys to see if Ro & Finn get hooked.  Thank you to Tasty Book Tours for the opportunity to read & review Off the Hook!!

book blurb

Charlie Hunt is a slut.

Have you ever let one word define you? Allowed one single word to shape your reality? I have.

I’m not the girl you take home to meet your parents. I’m the opposite.

I’m a sure thing with no strings attached, but one college jock took it too far, and for once, I'm the person who needs saving.

Evan Dawson is lost.

I never imagined myself back here, in my childhood home, looking after my wayward brother, but here I am.

This isn’t the life I planned for, but as soon as I set eyes on her, everything made perfect sense.

The reason I’m here, the purpose of my existence is to be with this girl and make her see her worth.

For Charlie and Evan the journey has never been easy, but can two complete opposites become one whole? Or will Charlie’s reputation tear them apart?
excerpt
He’s gaining ground. I can hear his heels pounding against the rocky pathway, but I don’t stop. Not until he says it, the thing I’ve been afraid of for all these years.

Stop running away from life, Charlie.

Those words, those simple words, mean so much. It’swhat I feared, what I suspect I’ve been doing all along. The walls I built, the sarcastic responses, a defense mechanism to stop myself from getting hurt. Again. My whole life centered on the one thing I so desperately tried to avoid.

I hear him take three more steps. He’s close, so close I can feel his presence without seeing him. And then he grabs my arm and turns me to look at him.

“Stop running,” he breathes.

In the dark night he’s the only thing I can see.

“Let go of my arm,” I say weakly. I don’t want him to let go at all.

His breathing is fast and his eyes intense. They don’t look kind and gentle like the first time we met. They are dark and hooded and they make me feel naked as he takes me in.

The air between us is heavy, filled with tension I don’t recognize. I’ve never felt an emotion so strong until this moment. The only light is from the headlights of his car, and yet, I can see him so clearly.

“You like being chased?” he asks and I’m surprised by the question.

“What makes you say that?”

“The words from your mouth are saying leave me alone, but your body is saying chase me.”

I can’t believe him. His arrogance pisses me off and I wonder if I really am as obvious as he says. I’m glad he chased me. I wanted him to. What the hell does that say about me?

“You’re so sure of yourself, aren’t you? I don’t play games, Dawson.”

“That’s good, because neither do I.” He smiles, his teeth peeking out from his lips. He looks good when he smiles. It touches every single feature of his face. His cheeks dimple and his eyes turn bright. He has the most wonderful smile.

He takes another step forward and my breathing hitches. Why is he standing so close?

He wraps one arm around my middle and my body instantly tenses. His hand rests at the small of my back and he pulls me forward, my body meeting his.

It takes me a moment, but I allow myself to relax. His other arm wraps around me. I’ve never felt so safe.

“Evan,” I whisper without looking at his face.

“Shhh. Just let me hold you.”

I rest my head against his chest and breathe him in. He smells so good, so rich and fruity, and oh so yummy.

I feel him pull back, his arms still wrapped around my waist. He’s much taller than me and I have to tilt my head to look at him. He licks his lips once and then dips his head, closing in on me.

“What are you doing?” I whisper.

“I don’t know,” he says in the same breathy tone to match my own. “I don’t know, but it feels right.”

The look on my face must make him second-guess himself because he cocks his head to the side giving me a questioning look.

“Don’t do it.” My voice is so weak I don’t know why I bother speaking. “Don’t you dare kiss me,” I say, but my eyelids are already falling closed.

He swoops in, his voice a soft whisper. “Just one kiss and you’ll know exactly how I feel.”

I swallow. My mouth is dry. My nerves spiral out of control as he dips his head to meet mine. He’s going to do it.

Holy shit! He’s going to kiss me. Something inside me freezes. I’ve forgotten how this scene plays out, how to act when a guy swoops in for a kiss. I’ve done this many times before and yet this feels different—new.

And until this moment, I’d always believed a kiss was just a kiss.
